COLERAINE currently have five players out on loan and here is a monthly round-up of how they’re getting on…

Cathair Friel is enjoying a short-term loan spell at Institute, whilst Caiolan Brennan and Lewis Tosh are plying their trade at Limavady United for the season.

Similarly, Alexander Gawne is spending the season at Carrick Rangers whilst Ronan Wilson is also at H&W Welders for the 2022/23 campaign.

CATHAIR FRIEL

The striker made five appearances for ‘Stute during October.

‘Bushy’ started all five games and netted goals against Ards and Knockbreda.

Institute currently sit 8th in the Championship standings.

CAIOLAN BRENNAN

Brennan is currently enjoying his second loan spell at Limavady United and played six times during the month of October.

The tricky winger started all six games United played across a variety of competitions and netted four times in the process.

Those goals came against PSNI in the Premier Intermediate, a brace against Institute U21’S in the Craig Memorial Cup, as well as a strike against Crumlin United in the Irish Cup.

Limavady are 5th in the Premier Intermediate standings and face Ballinamallard United Reserves in the second round of the Intermediate Cup.

LEWIS TOSH

This is Lewis’ first season in senior football and he continues to gain valuable experience in the process.

The left-sided player started five games for Limavady during the month and was a used substitute in the 3-1 win against Portstewart in the Premier Intermediate.

Tosh would net a notable hat-trick in the Roesiders’ heavy win against Institute U21’s in the Craig Memorial Cup.

RONAN WILSON

Wilson is currently playing in the Championship at H&W Welders and started all four games this month.

It has been a mixed bag of results for the east Belfast side as they suffered defeats to Annagh United, Newington and Ballyclare Comrades, with an away victory at Knockbreda sandwiched inbetween.

Paul Kee’s side are currently one from bottom in the Championship table.

ALEXANDER GAWNE

Alexander featured three times for the Amber Army during the month of October.

The speedster started the recent 1-0 defeat to Cliftonville, as well as being a used substitute in the 4-2 loss at Glenavon and 4-3 win against Crusaders.

The Coleraine native was not involved in the matchday squads for the defeat to Dundela in the County Antrim Shield and the 5-0 defeat to Glentoran.

Furthermore, Gawne was an unused substitute in the 3-0 home win against Dungannon Swifts.
