CONOR Loughrey says the crowd support on Tuesday night was appreciated by everyone at the club and hopes to see as many fans return for tomorrow’s clash at home to Glenavon…

Approximately 2700 Coleraine fans came through the turnstiles through the week as the Bannsiders battled back from 2-0 down to earn a share of the spoils against Linfield.

There was also a pre-match display in the Jack Doherty Grandstand and Railway End to add to the atmosphere on the Ballycastle Road.

Coleraine are on home soil tomorrow yet again and assistant coach Loughrey would love to see fans come out in force yet again as another three Premiership points are up for grabs.

He said: “Tuesday night was excellent and the commitment from the supporters to put on that display before was brilliant.

“It was disappointing from us in the first half that our performance didn’t reflect their commitment, but thankfully in the end, I think everyone went away, maybe not happy but satisfied.

“The support has been brilliant and we hope as many can return on Saturday again. But listen, we have a job to do ourselves, regardless of the support.

“Sometimes we bounce off each other, we need to give them energy and sometimes they need to give us that energy.

“So far it’s been really good and they can see a team on the pitch that are prepared to fight and dig in, which they saw in the second half as well on Tuesday.”

The Lurgan Blues have a new face in the dugout as former Coleraine assistant manager Michael O’Connor was named as Paddy McLaughlin’s successor.

The Bannsiders had to dig very deep in the last meeting between the sides as Matthew Shevlin converted a last-gasp header to bag all three points.
