The winger, who made his competitive debut in last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Dungannon Swifts, will now gain valuable under Paul Owens at the Roesiders in the Premier Intermediate League.

The Northern Ireland youth international has been training with the first-team squad for large parts of the calendar year and boss Oran Kearney believes the move will aid in his development.

He said: “Luca is probably at the stage where he’s outgrown the U20’s and needs to play men’s football.

“He has made good progress, especially over pre-season, and we believe now is the time to test him regularly in a man’s environment.

“We know with Lewis Tosh being there and how Paul operates that Luca will be well looked after.

“It’s a good opportunity for him and we will monitor his progress.”
