Coleraine would lift the trophy for the 23rd time in the club’s history after a 3-2 triumph at The Showgrounds.

Dean Shiels’ men broke the deadlock on 9 minutes when a poor pass allowed Sam McClintock to rush inside the box and dispatch beyond Patrick McGarvey.

The Bannsiders then had a chance to double the lead from the spot after McClintock was brought down inside the box. However, McGarvey redeemed himself as he dived to his left to keep out Jamie McGonigle’s spot kick.

The visitors responded by scoring twice to take the half-time lead as Richard Johnston headed in from a corner, before Joshua McIlwaine fired a shot on the turn beyond the reach of Max Little.

After sustained pressure, Coleraine equalised on the hour mark when McClintock’s free-kick sailed into the back of the net for the goal of the night.

As the game looked destined for penalties, the Stripes had different ideas as Senan Devine’s cross was on the money for Tiernan Brolly to sweep the ball home.
