Match Highlights vs Cliftonville

HIGHLIGHTS from the Bannsiders’ draw against Cliftonville are now available to watch on the club’s official YouTube channel…

The Bannsiders would be denied a seventh straight victory as Cliftonville grabbed a late equaliser in a fixture played in difficult conditions at The Showgrounds.

The visitors would take the lead on six minutes as a long kick forward was flicked on by Paul O’Neill into the path of Rory Hale. The midfielder – who joined the Reds in January – hit a delightful lob over Deane and into the net.

Coleraine would find an equaliser on 20 minutes as Gareth McConaghie’s free-kick was saved by Aaron McCarey with Aaron Traynor on hand to slam the ball home for a goal on his 100th appearance on the club.

On 41 minutes, Oran Kearney’s men would hit the front as Stephen Lowry robbed Ryan Curran on the halfway line and gave the ball to Jamie Glackin. The attacker drove forward and released Ian Parkhill who delivered a cross into the box that was directed into the net by James McLaughlin.

After both sides created half chances after the break, Cliftonville would draw level on 83 minutes as Daire O’Connor burst into the box and squared the ball to O’Neill who hit a goal on his debut.

The game came to life in the closing stages as Evan Tweed cleared Michael McCrudden’s effort off the line, with O’Neill striking the post with the rebound. At the other end, Glackin and Ian Parkhill combined with the latter sending an effort off the crossbar.
