The Bannsiders would make it five successive wins in the Danske Bank Premiership as a goal in each half from Matthew Shevlin and Aaron Jarvis sealed the victory against Stephen Baxter’s side.

After Jamie McGonigle had a goal bound effort blocked by Aaron Traynor, the Bannsiders almost took the lead in fortuitous circumstances as Curtis Allen’s cross was turned inches over his own crossbar by Crusaders defender Michael Ruddy.

However, the deadlock was broken on 44 minutes as a superb cross by Stephen Lowry was headed into the net by substitute Matthew Shevlin for his first goal in Coleraine colours since the January switch from Linfield.

The second-half was more entertaining as McGonigle once again threatened as his strike sailed inches over the bar, with Jarvis’ rasping drive failing to test Crusaders ‘keeper Jonny Tuffey.

On 57 minutes, Jarvis would go one better as Tuffey punched clear Glackin’s cross with the ball landing at the feet of the the midfielder who drilled into the net from the edge of the box for his second goal of the campaign.

The Stripes almost added further gloss to the scoreline as Tuffey saved from Shevlin after the forward was sent through on goal by Ben Doherty, with the stopper also alert to dive low to keep out an effort from Lowry.
