Coleraine started the season by earning all three points at Stangmore Park as Ruaidhri Higgins’ men walked away with a 3-1 success.

After a nip and tuck opening 45 minutes – which saw chances for both teams – Coleraine struck with pretty much the last action of the first half when Jay Henderson lashed home his first goal since his summer move from Ross County.

Ten minutes after the restart, the lead was doubled as a clever corner kick routine between Will Patching and Ben Doherty resulted in the latter curling a delightful effort into the far corner.

However, Dungannon managed to claw their way back into the game when Sean McAllister’s rasping drive from distance sailed into the far corner.

But Coleraine quickly restored their two-goal buffer and sealed all three points as Lewis McGregor squared the ball for Matthew Shevlin to convert.
