Coleraine would have to settle for a point after a 1-1 draw against Rodney McAree’s side at The Showgrounds.

In a game that lacked any clear-cut chances, Coleraine would be reduced to ten men on the half-hour mark as Stephen Lowry was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident involving Swifts midfielder James Knowles.

However, the hosts would take the lead on the stroke of half-time as Matthew Shevlin – who originally had a header saved – was on hand to blast home the equaliser.

Oran Kearney’s men would spurn a glorious chance to double the lead from the penalty spot after Jamie McGonigle was fouled inside the area. The resulting spot-kick by Josh Carson was saved by the face of Swifts ‘keeper Declan Dunne.

The visitors would leave with a draw as they bagged themselves a 79th minute equaliser when former Coleraine striker Andy Mitchell headed in from Adam Glenny’s cross.
