HIGHLIGHTS from the Bannsiders’ victory against Glentoran can now be viewed on the club’s official YouTube account…

Ruaidhri Higgins’ men claimed European football following the 6-2 success against the east Belfast side at a sold-out and noisy Coleraine Showgrounds.

The Bannsiders made a stunning start and led 2-0 by 14 minutes as Will Patching opened the scoring from the spot, before Levi Ives curled home a stunning free-kick for his second goal of the season.

Both teams had chances thereafter but it would be a case of deja-vu at the start of the second half as Coleraine made it 3-0 through another Patching penalty, with the midfielder then completing his hat-trick with a trademark piledriver from the edge of the box.

Glentoran did manage to pull a goal back through Ross Clarke’s finish but Coleraine kept coming and made it 5-1 when Senan Devine picked his spot with an eye-catching effort on 70 minutes.

Despite Jack Malone making the scoreline 5-2, the day certainly belonged to Coleraine and they had the final say when Matthew Shevlin prodded home from close range to make it a day to remember on the Ballycastle Road.
