Matthew Shevlin’s last-gasp equaliser would ensure the Stripes left Windsor Park with a share of the spoils in a four-goal thriller.

Coleraine started brightly at the National Stadium as Shevlin had two headers saved by Chris Johns, whilst teenage midfielder Alfie Gaston fired over the crossbar after dancing his way into the box.

However, Coleraine would take the lead just before half-time as Josh Carson’s through ball picked out the run of Jamie McGonigle who arrowed a strike into the bottom corner.

Linfield responded after the break to lead by the hour mark as Matthew Fitzpatrick headed in from Kirk Millar’s cross, before Chris Shields netted from the spot after Graham Kelly was adjudged to have fouled Fitzpatrick inside the area.

As seven additional minutes were signalled, the Stripes ensured they left the capital with a point to show for their efforts as Lee Lynch’s dangerous cross was headed in at the back post by Shevlin.
