HIGHLIGHTS from the Bannsiders’ victory against Portadown can now be viewed on the club’s official YouTube account…

Coleraine had to dig extremely deep to earn all three points as James Akintunde scored an injury-time winner against Niall Currie’s men.

After both teams traded early chances, Portadown took the lead on 21 minutes when Steven McCullough played through Josh Ukek and he left Ryan Schofield with no chance via a clinical finish.

The Bannsiders’ best opening of the opening 45 minutes arrived via the head of Matthew Shevlin but his leader lacked any conviction as Alex Moore saved.

Ruaidhri Higgins’ men laid siege to the visitors’ goal after the restart as Zane Okoro, Shevlin, Joel Cooper and Will Patching were all denied.

However, the equaliser arrived on 74 minutes when the ball was worked to Joel Cooper 25 yards from goal and he let fly with an unstoppable effort.

Coleraine survived a scare when Eamon Fyfe rifled over from an acute angle before Dean Jarvis could only watch on as his looping header came back off the crossbar.

Just when it looked like the spoils would be shared, Coleraine won the contest deep into stoppage-time when Akintunde stabbed home Patching’s cross.
