COLERAINE are at home for the final time before Christmas as they welcome Bangor to The Showgrounds this evening (KO 7.45pm)…
SPORTS DIRECT PREMIERSHIP
Overview:
Coleraine picked up all three points at home last weekend as they came from behind to beat Carrick Rangers. A close-range finish had given the Amber Army the lead but Coleraine responded to win 3-1 via efforts from Charles Dunne, Jamie McGonigle and Dean Jarvis. The results moved the Bannsiders top of the Premiership standings, with new arrival Mark Connolly unable to play until January.
Bangor were also victorious last time out as they showed their powers of recovery to edge out Glenavon at Mourneview Park. Trailing to Jack Malone’s early opener, Bangor turned the game on its head to lead at the break thanks to a brace from Ben Arthurs. Lee Feeney’s men are currently 7th in the Premiership table and were drawn away to Linfield in this week’s Irish Cup draw.
Previous Meetings:
Coleraine and Bangor met in the Sports Direct Premiership back in October.
- October 4, 2025 (SDP) – Bangor 2 (Boyd ’17 mins & Arthurs ’43 mins); Coleraine 1 (Okoro ’55 mins)
Assistant Coach’s Thoughts:
“Bangor have done great and obviously started the season quite well,” Deery said.
“You would expect with a newly-promoted team that there would be a little bit of a fall-off, but you see their result last week at Glenavon.
“Glenavon’s probably looking at that going if we get three points, then we’ll be on the tail of some teams but Bangor were able to do a job.
“We have to be ready for a fully-focused Bangor team coming here to try and do us again but it has to be our motivation that it can’t happen.”
