COLERAINE and Bangor collide for the first time this season as the Bannsiders make the journey to Clandeboye Park tomorrow afternoon (KO 3pm)…

BOYLE SPORTS PREMIERSHIP

Overview:

Coleraine were involved in midweek action as the Bannsiders progressed to the final of the North-West Senior Cup with a 4-1 triumph against Limavady United. Efforts from Lewis McGregor, Connor Murray, Joe Thomson and a Ruairi Boorman own goal sealed the passage through to the final. Ruaidhri Higgins’ men will be looking to bounce back from their first Premiership loss to Linfield last time out.

Bangor’s last outing was a 2-1 loss at Crusaders as they suffered a late defeat at Seaview. The Seasiders looked like grabbing a share of the spoils until Owen Wardell’s strike with around five minutes to go left them empty-handed. Lee Feeney’s men have five points from their opening nine games and were paired against Dungannon Swifts in the first round of the BetMcLean Cup.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“I hope the defeat refocuses people’s minds,” Higgins said.

“We’ve dissected the game and gone through it with the players.

“It was our lack of bravery in the first part of our build-up that let us down on the night and it’s really important that we don’t let that happen again.

“We’re going to have to bounce back from last Friday and I’ve no doubt that we can.

“We’ve been used to winning a lot recently which is great but hopefully that defeat can give us a real refocus to kick on again.”
