COLERAINE start their post-split fixtures with an away assignment at Dungannon Swifts this afternoon (KO 3pm)…

SPORTS DIRECT PREMIERSHIP

Overview:

Coleraine picked up a point last weekend against Glentoran at The Oval after Jamie McGonigle’s opener was cancelled out by Jordan Stewart’s second-half header. The Bannsiders produced a battling performance in the capital as they had to play the second 45 minutes with 10 men after Rowan McDonald’s dismissal – which has since been rescinded following a successful appeal. Ruaidhri Higgins’ side go into the post-split fixtures sitting third in the Premiership standings.

Dungannon Swifts were beaten last weekend at home after being edged out by Bangor. Rodney McAree’s men go into the last five games of the campaign sitting sixth in the table. The Irish Cup holders will face Cliftonville in next weekend’s Irish Cup semi-final – a repeat of last year’s decider which they historically won.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“We recently went to Stangmore Park and it was a poor day for us,” Higgins said.

“Hopefully we have learned from that and have a better outcome this time around.

“Since that defeat, we have responded quite positively and we want to win as many games as we can.

“We know there are five Premiership games left, so there’s a lot to play for.”
