COLERAINE commence their 2026 schedule with a trip to league leaders Larne this evening (KO 7.45pm)…

SPORTS DIRECT PREMIERSHIP

Overview:

Coleraine returned to winning ways in the Premiership last time out as Joel Cooper, Jamie McGonigle and Will Patching netted in a 3-1 home success against Linfield. The result meant Ruaidhri Higgins’ men remained second in the table ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. In terms of squad news, Dylan Boyle completes the last match of his three-game ban.

Larne remained top of the Premiership table on Tuesday despite drawing a blank in a goalless draw against Cliftonville at Inver Park. Gary Haveron’s men have a four-point buffer at the summit and will face Ballymena United away from home in the fifth round of the Clearer Water Irish Cup later this month.

Previous Meetings:

Coleraine and Larne have met each other two previous occasions in the Sports Direct Premiership this season.

  • November 25, 2025 (SDP) – Coleraine 1 (Shevlin ’90+2 mins); Larne 2 (Millar ’43 mins & Graham ’45 mins)

Manager’s Thoughts:

“Tuesday night was a brilliant night for us but we have 48 hours to recover to go to Larne.” Higgins said.

“That’s the nature of the beast but we’ll try to go to Larne and win the game.

“They’ve had a brilliant season and in everyone’s eyes now have one hand on the trophy.

“We have to go to Larne now and try and put in a big performance to get all three points.”
