COLERAINE are set to give their young players a chance to shine in a first-team environment as they face Limavady United in the semi-final of the North-West Senior Cup this evening (KO 7.45pm)…
NORTH-WEST SENIOR CUP SEMI-FINAL
Overview:
Coleraine returned to winning ways in the Sports Direct Premiership after a 3-1 win against Ballymena United last Saturday. Goals from Will Patching and a brace from Matthew Shevlin made it a derby day to remember for the Bannsiders. Boss Ruaidhri Higgins is expected to field some of the club’s bright talents this evening after beating Newbuildings United in the previous round.
Limavady United hit the goal trail in the Championship last weekend as they ran out 4-1 victors away at Ards. Two loanees from The Showgrounds made an impact as both Alfie Gaston and Sam McClintock found the back of the net. Paul Owens’ side are currently second in the Championship table and edged out Portstewart in the previous round of this competition.
Manager’s Thoughts:
“We’ve used the squad a lot over the last week,” Higgins said after the weekend win at Ballymena United.
“We unfortunately have some niggles in the team at present.
“It’s highly likely that you’re going to see a lot of the club’s highly-talented young players.”
Officials:
The match referee will be Declan Hassan.
The assistant referees are Richard Hegarty and Gavin Hegarty.
Admission:
Supporters are advised that a cash gate will be in operation – £8 adults and £5 concessions.
We would urge supporters to arrive at the ground in good time and respect residents and businesses in terms of parking your vehicle.
