McDaid seals return

COLERAINE FC is delighted to announce the arrival of Davy McDaid as the striker becomes our second arrival of the summer transfer window…

The 32-year-old joins the Bannsiders for a second spell after previously being at the club for a six month period in 2014.

McDaid joins on a three-year deal from Ballymena United in a deal that will see Alexander Gawne move in the opposite direction.

The L/Derry native has also played for Derry City, York City, Cliftonville, Waterford and Larne during his illustrious career.

The deal will see boss Oran Kearney work with McDaid for the second time in his career – much to his satisfaction.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Davy back to Coleraine,” he said.

“We have mentioned before that we are going to have to be quite bespoke in terms of targets and Davy fits that bill.

“Matthew had a cracking season for us and Davy will be able to provide that little bit of guile and I’m sure they will have a great partnership in attack.

“I still feel that Davy still has plenty left in the tank and his brain is his biggest asset.

“I have no doubt that he will continue to get better and better and we are looking forward to working with him once again.”

The Club can confirm that McDaid will wear the number 10 shirt next season.
