COLERAINE FC extends its best wishes to Shairee McVey who has been nominated for the NIWFA Division 2 Player of the Year award…
The Women’s captain is in the running alongside Louise Devlin (Lisbellaw) and Lyndsay Moore (Carrick Rangers Falcons) for the gong.
The winner will be announced at an end-of-season awards night at The Hilton Hotel in Belfast this Saturday (October 11).
Speaking about Shairee’s nomination, Gareth Scott, women’s team manager, said: “Shairee has played for Coleraine virtually all of her career.
“Her natural leadership style has developed through an all action approach, where she takes a leading role in all aspects of club life – from the training field, the supporting of young players both at senior club and youth section, to the pastoral support of all involved.
“Shairee has been an exemplary advocate, team-mate and empathetic friend to all involved with our rapidly growing club.
“There is such a positive sub-culture growing within our women’s section that is part of the club’s upwardly moving profile.
“The input, advocacy, ferocious playing spirit and composure makes Shairee a very worthy recipient of this well deserved nomination by her peers within the league.
“In my time in football she is right up there with the best football people I have worked with. A huge asset to our club and great to see it formally recognised.”
We congratulate Shairee once again and hopes she has a great night at the Hilton Hotel.
