Medical Update

COLERAINE manager Rodney McAree spoke to the club website to give an update on the Bannsiders’ injury list…

Lyndon Kane

Injury: Broken metatarsal.

Rodney: Lyndon is going in for surgery on Thursday and I think a screw is being fitted to get to the bottom of the problem. It’s been a tough time for Lyndon but he will come back stronger.

Estimated Return: It’s too early to say at this stage but we will do all we can to help him through his rehabilitation.

Aaron Traynor

Injury: Torn ACL.

Rodney: Aaron is coming on well and has been doing a bit of bike work. He has started his rehabilitation strongly and I’m sure he will do everything he can to make sure he returns healthy.

Estimated Return: Start of next season.

Stephen O’Donnell

Injury: Knee.

Rodney: Stephen has stepped up his training in recent weeks and is doing more and more to get back to fitness. We are hopeful that he will take part in full training next week.

Estimated Return: Two or three weeks.

Aaron Burns

Injury: Achilles.

Rodney: The injury has ruled Aaron out longer than we expected. However we have to give him credit as he played three or four games with the pain as we were short in numbers, but unfortunately this has done him no favours. I’ve really enjoyed working with Aaron and I’m sure you are all looking forward to his return.

Estimated Return: Two or three weeks.

Alexander Gawne

Injury: Ankle.

Rodney: Alex got hurt in a training session and he has slight ankle ligament damage. There is swelling there and we are simply monitoring the injury at the moment. It’s a tough one to take as he was brilliant in the Irish Cup clash against the Welders.

Estimated Return: Two or three weeks.

Graham Crown

Injury: Hamstring.

Rodney: Graham has worked hard to get himself fit and will train fully on Wednesday night.

Estimated Return: In contention for Friday night.
