COLERAINE FC was delighted to spend time at Sandelford School as first-team players Connor Murray and Lewis McGregor were joined by club representatives…
The club had the pleasure of attending morning assembly at Sandelford School last Friday, in conjunction with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
First-team players Lewis McGregor and Connor Murray, along with Head of Business & Community for the club, Jamie Selfridge, were all in attendance.
The players took part in a fun Q&A with the pupils and were put to the test in a competition to see which one had remembered the most signs for visual learning.
Added to this, the players posed for numerous photos and signed autographs.
Speaking after the visit, Tam McGilligan, teacher at Sandelford School, said: “With many passionate supporters of the club among our pupils and staff, it was a truly uplifting experience to host the players. They generously gave their time to answer questions, pose for photographs, and share insights into the day-to-day life of a professional footballer. Their openness and enthusiasm made the visit both inspiring and memorable for everyone in attendance.
“We were also delighted to reflect on last year’s special visit from the club’s girls’ team following their cup victory, when they joined us to share in their success and celebrations. These opportunities to connect directly with players are incredibly meaningful for our school community.
“We extend our sincere thanks to Coleraine Football Club for their continued support and for welcoming our school under the club’s umbrella. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring, including future activities and engagement for our pupils.
“We wish everyone at Coleraine Football Club continued success in the season ahead. Be assured that you will have enthusiastic support from the stands and from our school community.”
Jamie Selfridge, Head of Business & Community at Coleraine FC, added: “It was an honour to be invited as a club to attend last Friday morning.
“Coleraine FC is striving to strengthen and better establish our community outreach and last Friday was testament to this.
“Connor and Lewis both represented the club extremely well and were brilliant with all the pupils.
“Sandelford is such an amazing school, with an extremely dedicated and hard-working staff. It was great to see so many Coleraine supporters amongst the pupils.
“We would like to thank Tam and his staff at Sandelford, along with Stephen McCartney from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for the invite.”
