COLERAINE travel over the mountain tomorrow afternoon to face neighbours Limavady United in pre-season action (KO 3pm)…

Pre-Season Friendly

Overview:

Coleraine will be in pre-season action for the second time in as many days as they make the trip to Limavady United tomorrow afternoon. The Bannsiders recorded back-to-back wins from their schedule last night as goals from Gareth McConaghie, James McLaughlin and Ian Parkhill sealed a 3-1 win over Moyola Park at Mill Meadow. As for Limavady, they are now under the management of former Northern Ireland international Mark Clyde and they will want a swift return to the Bluefin Sport Championship after suffering relegation last season.

Recent meetings:

The two sides locked horns in pre-season action last season and the Bannsiders ran out comprehensive winners at the Limavady Showgrounds. Coleraine took the lead through an eleventh minute corner, headed home by loanee -for-theday Stuart McMullan, who rose highest to nod in through a crowd of players. Coleraine gradually gained control of the midfield and United were forced to defend but on 37 minutes fell further behind, as they gave the ball away cheaply in front of the box, and ex-Roesider James McLaughlin curled a fine shot into the top corner. The final goal arrived on 83 minutes, when Coleraine again stole the ball and, after a break upfield, seemed certain to score when Parkhill rounded the keeper, but he was forced wide and had to cut the ball back to Paul Owens, who slammed the ball into the net.

In November, a youthful Coleraine side were heavily beaten by United in the semi-final of the Eventsec North-West Cup. A hat-trick from Sean McCarron, added to goals from Shane Boyle and Alex Pomeroy sealed a comfortable 5-0 win for the Roesiders.

Team News:

The Bannsiders welcomed the return of Cormac Burke and Graham Crown in last night’s victory against Moyola Park, with Jack Bradley also being utilised from the bench. However, it is expected that Stephen Lowry, Aaron Traynor, Lyndon Kane and Alexander Gawne won’t feature as the quartet continue to return to full fitness.

Admission:
