The east Belfast native has been appointed as goalkeeping coach after a three-year spell at Derry City.
Dougherty discussed previously working with Higgins at the Candystripes, the reasons for joining the club and how he has been made to feel welcome since arriving through the door.
The former Glentoran shot stopper also spoke of his excitement at the potential of the young goalkeepers at the club – and how he wants to see as many reach the first-team as possible.
