Richard Branson is quoted as saying “From the pitch to the crowd to the world, there is nothing quite like sport to bring people together” and we don’t disagree.

There’s no better quote that sums up the power of sport to build connections and respect between individuals from varying backgrounds and cultures.

During January, students from the Full Time Education and Coaching Programme who are studying a BTEC in Sport at The Showgrounds have coached over 150 primary school children from four local primary schools.

Pupils from Milburn PS, St Malachy’s PS, St Colum’s and Portstewart PS have all visited The Showgrounds and taken part in football, rugby and handball sessions as part of the Shared Education Project.
