COLERAINE FC can confirm that Stewart Nixon has re-joined Carrick Rangers after an 18-month stint at The Showgrounds…
The winger joined Oran Kearney’s side in January 2020 and went on to make 33 appearances, scoring five times in the process.
Nixon was part of the squad that featured in the memorable Europa League wins against NK Maribor and La Fiorita, as well as netting a crucial winner against Warrenpoint Town earlier in the 2020/21 campaign that sparked a 17 match unbeaten streak.
Coleraine boss Oran Kearney cited Nixon’s determination to play more games as a factor in the switch.
“To be fair to Stewart he simply wants to play more games,” he said.
“He was probably frustrated at times due to the competition within the squad.
“Stewart is a great lad, a pleasure to work with and a top pro.
“I would like to thank Stewart for his services and wish him well for the future.”
