Official Coleraine Podcast: S2 E7

THERE’S only one…Stephen Carson!

This week we were delighted to be joined on the Official Coleraine Podcast by former winger Stephen Carson.

The Ballymoney man is highly regarded as one of the club’s best ever players and he made 300 appearances for the Bannsiders across two spells, scoring 65 goals in the process in a memorable seven-and-a-half seasons at The Showgrounds.

Hosted by Johnny McNabb, the show discusses Stephen’s youth career, his breakthrough at Rangers, the moves to Barnsley and Hartlepool and why he made the decision to come home in 2004.

Carson explains his disappointment at not lifting a trophy at the club, why he wanted to win so badly for Marty Quinn and the decision to leave for Glentoran in 2011.

The 41-year-old outlined his role as an Academy Director in the United States and how he misses the little things back home.

There is also a recap of the Bannsiders’ fixtures against Crusaders, Glenavon and Carrick Rangers, as well as a look ahead to the game against Glentoran
