Kearney remarked about the importance of getting up and running early in the season as Evan McLaughlin (2) and Jamie Glackin netted against the Reds.

The boss also praised both sets of players for their performances in the heat and hailed his side for weathering an early second-half storm from the Reds, which resulted in Ryan Curran heading in from Levi Ives’ cross.

Kearney challenged his players to hit the same heights next weekend as they make the journey to Portadown.
