OK – ‘It was mission accomplished’

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney insists his players will simply look after themselves as they earned all three points at Ballymena yesterday afternoon…

A first-half penalty from Stephen Lowry got the ball rolling at Warden Street before Aaron Canning’s header with less than 20 minutes remaining sealed a 2-0 win at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

Kearney admitted the performance was more ‘workmanlike’ than pretty but was happy to see the Bannsiders remain on the coat tails of leaders Linfield.

The boss labelled Aaron Canning’s recent performances as ‘exceptional’ and was delighted to see Ben Doherty return from injury after missing the Bannsiders’ last six games.

With the Stripes four points off the top with seven games to play, Kearney once again reinforced that his troops will simply take it one game at a time.
