OK: “It was sloppy at times”

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney was left frustrated after watching his side draw for a second successive match…

The Bannsiders took their time to make the breakthrough against the Ports but it arrived on 67 minutes as Stewart Nixon came off the bench to find the back of the net. However, that joy would be short lived as Adam Salley blasted home an equaliser just minutes later as Matthew Tipton’s men held on for a point.

Kearney admits the result was “disappointing” and the performance was “sloppy at times” but was more critical that his side failed to see the game out after Nixon’s opener.

Martin Gallagher was handed a first league start of the season between the sticks and Kearney revealed that Gareth Deane had a ‘tightness’ due to the busy schedule.

The Stripes are next in action against Glenavon on Tuesday night and Kearney is hoping his side can “tighten up in certain areas” to pick up more points.
