OK pleased to weather the storm

COLERAINE manager Oran Kearney praised his players for adapting to the conditions in yesterday’s win against Glentoran…

Jamie Glackin’s strike – direct from a corner kick – was the difference at The Oval as the Bannsiders moved up to second spot in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Kearney acknowledged that it was going to take something ‘out of the ordinary’ to win the game and believes his players adapted to playing with and against the wind in East Belfast.

Stewart Nixon was handed his competitive debut and Kearney labelled his performance as ‘very mature’ as the ex-Carrick Rangers man made his bow.

Due to injuries in central midfield, Kearney opted to field Stephen O’Donnell in there once again and the club captain excelled – much to Kearney’s satisfaction.
