COLERAINE Women Reserves got their NIWFA Division 6 campaign up and running with a 3-0 win against Belfast Ravens III…
The Bannsiders welcomed a very much improved and very spirited Belfast Ravens III to Coleraine University last night.
The visitors started on the front foot but the Coleraine defence held firm before Norah McCullough put the Bannsiders ahead with a really well worked effort.
Soon after, Katie Miskimmon scored an excellent goal with after a very determined break and held off a few defenders for a fine finish to make it 2-0.
Several more chances were kept out by Ravens excellent keeper but the first half was marred by a bad foot injury to our attacking stalwart, Lindsay Norton, whose all action style epitomises Coleraine spirit.
As the second half progressed, Coleraine held off a few dangerous Ravens attacks and ended up creating a few good chances, culminating in an Elsie McIlvenna debut goal with cool finish.
It marks a great three points to start the journey and Coleraine Women Reserves thanks Carhill Media for taking pictures last night.
