The 25-year-old will join the club in January on an 18-month deal following a stint with Belfast Celtic, where he put in a high number of impressive performances.

Fitzpatrick admits it didn’t take long for boss Oran Kearney to convince him to make the move to The Showgrounds and hopes his versatility will prove to a plus for the Bannsiders.

Matthew is hoping his experience of playing in high profile GAA matches will help him when his switch becomes official.
