Oran laments disappointing evening

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney admits his side looked tired for large spells as they were beaten by Glenavon at The Showgrounds…

The Bannsiders would fall behind to Peter Campbell’s effort but equalised when Matthew Shevlin was fouled and hit the back of the net with the resulting penalty. However, Glenavon would go back in front when Robert Garrett’s strike deflected in off the post before Matthew Fitzpatrick added a third on 62 minutes.

Speaking to Coleraine TV, Kearney was hoping that momentum would overcome fatigue after a three game week, whereas Glenavon weren’t in midweek action, but sadly confessed the Lurgan Blues looked the fresher side.

The manager also rued his side’s luck as Garrett’s deflected effort meant his side had to chase the game early in the second-half.

Kearney also confessed a few members of his squad will play for the U20’s against Carrick Rangers on Tuesday night ahead of the game against Dungannon Swifts on Friday.
