Players got ‘back on the horse’ – OK

ORAN Kearney believes the performance levels were right on the money as the Bannsiders played out a goalless draw against Larne at The Showgrounds…

In a game that had very few chances, both teams would hit the upright in the second-half as Thomas Maguire clipped the top of the crossbar for the visitors, whilst Lyndon Kane’s long range effort came back off the post.

Kearney credited his players for “getting back on the horse” in all aspects and it was “a monster shift” by his side who were missing key personnel through injuries and suspensions.

The boss added that he thought Kane’s long range effort was for finding the back of the net and that it would have been “icing on the cake” after a tremendous performance.

Kearney also commented on Darren Cole’s debut after the defender was used from the bench due to a knock sustained to Dean Jarvis and he previewed next Friday night’s game away to Dungannon Swifts.
