RUAIDHRI Higgins says yesterday’s contest against Larne was “a typical early season game” after the two sides played out a goalless draw at The Showgrounds…

Neither side could be breached after 90 minutes of football on the north coast as the points were shared.

Higgins remarked how his side weren’t as free-flowing as he would have liked but stated that they should have held a half-time lead as Will Patching, Matthew Shevlin and Joel Cooper were denied by Rohan Ferguson.

He said he couldn’t fault his players for their endeavour but that they needed a little bit more composure in the second half to create more goalscoring opportunities.

After taking four points from the opening two games, Higgins said the stalemate “isn’t the end of the world” as the Bannsiders returned to The Showgrounds after 112 days.
