Recovery is key, says Aaron

RECOVERY is the key as Coleraine get ready to go again against Portadown tomorrow afternoon…

That’s the view of Aaron Traynor, who made his 100th appearance for the club during Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Cliftonville.

Traynor, man of the match against Crusaders last weekend and a goalscorer in midweek, has played a key role in his side’s upturn in fortunes of late.

Although disappointed with the concession of Cliftonville’s late equaliser, it’s the Reds from Mid Ulster who come calling next and he expects another gruelling contest.

“There’s plenty of aches and pains but recovery is crucial,” explained Aaron.

“There’s no let up in the games but we feel privileged to be able to play and it’s better than training!”

The left back has shrugged off his long term knee injury and a groin problem to return to the starting line up.

“Slowly but surely I’m getting back to my fittest.”

And Traynor doesn’t expect any let up in the pace against Portadown.

“They are a bit of a mixed bag this season.

“They had a good result against Crusaders but then lost at home to Warrenpoint and then Linfield midweek.

“What I do know is Matthew (Tipton) will have them well pumped up.

“He will be looking to take advantage of us having played a number of the top teams in the last ten days.”
