Bannsiders fan Roy O’Brien has been living and working in London for many years.

He still follows the fortunes of Coleraine closely and never misses the opportunity to take in a game when he returns home to see family and friends.

Roy was going about his business this week in the capital when his Coleraine hat drew the attention of a couple of commuters.

“I was walking through Waterloo station when two young lads in their 20’s came towards me,” explained Roy.

“One of them pointed and said to his mate ‘look, that’s Coleraine!

“His friend turned round and shouted ‘Up the Bannsiders’ laughed Roy.

“I shouted Up the Bannsiders back at them.

“Unfortunately I was rushing for a train so I couldn’t get a chat with them.’

Good to see the Bannsiders are a household name in London.

And keep showing off those colours with pride Roy!
