Scottish duo guests for Linfield match

It will be a real blast from the past on January 29 when Coleraine take on Linfield!

Greg O’Dowd has already confirmed he will be taking in the game as a guest of the club.

Now Stuart McLean and Derek Cook have confirmed they too are travelling over for the game.

It may be almost 30 years since this trio starred for the Bannsiders but the fact they are still held in such his esteem by the fans is testament to their efforts during their stay at the Showgrounds.

“Derek and I hadn’t been together since our playing days,” explained Stuart.

“It took the sad occasion of Alan Ewing’s funeral to bring us together.

“Derek talked about coming over for a game.

“I’ve always thought about I and wanted to come back and then you always put it to the back of your mind.

“But after what happened with Alan I decided I wasn’t putting these things off.

“Derek contacted me about travelling over for the Linfield match and I had no hesitation saying yes.

“We both can’t wait.”
