Shevlin shines

COLERAINE FC can confirm that Matthew Shevlin has scooped the August Player of the Month award…

The striker secured the majority of the votes to beat Evan McLaughlin in second, Jamie Glackin in third and Martin Gallagher in fourth.

Shevlin netted a brace against Portadown as the Bannsiders won 2-0 before hitting a hat-trick in a 4-2 success against Carrick Rangers.

He would make it six goals in three games after scoring from the spot in the 3-1 defeat to Glenavon.
