Shevlin’s overall performance pleases OK

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney believes there is still room for improvement despite his side making it three successive wins in the Danske Bank Premiership…

The Bannsiders would record a 4-2 success against Carrick Rangers as Matthew Shevlin (3) and Jamie Glackin got on the scoresheet in east Antrim.

Kearney remarked that he knew it was going to be a tough assignment after the Amber Army’s defeat to Cliftonville last weekend but was pleased to walk away with all three points, albeit the perfectionist in him was disappointed to concede right on the stroke of half-time.

Shevlin would walk away with the match ball after making it five goals in two games but Kearney acknowledged that his overall performance was top class as his goalscoring instinct was never in question.

Glenavon are next up for Kearney’s men and the boss knows they will be the fresher side after not competing in midweek and he hopes to see a healthy crowd at The Showgrounds on Friday night.
