Matthew Shevlin Signs New 3-Year Deal

Coleraine FC is thrilled to announce that Matthew Shevlin has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-year contract. This extension will see Shevlin remain at The Showgrounds until at least 2027 joining the full time playing programme.

Since Matthew arrived in December 2020 he has become a key player, scoring 68 times in all competitions. His dedication and performance on the pitch have earned him a special place in the hearts of the fans and the respect of his teammates and coaching staff.

Head Coach Dean Shiels expressed his excitement about Shevlin’s extended stay: “Matthew is of huge importance to the group. His teammates love to play with him because of how hard he works and is a nightmare for defenders to play against. I am absolutely delighted that he has committed to the club and I think that sets the precedent that this is the direction the club is going and Matthew is really keen in buying into what we are doing hear and hopefully that will ring out around the league and players who might want to come and join.”

Matthew Shevlin himself expressed his enthusiasm about the extension: “It was a tough decision for me as it has meant stepping away from my full time job, but after discussing it with my girlfriend and family, I knew this was the right decision to make. I am really excited about what is happening at Coleraine and wanted to be part of it. ”
