COLERAINE striker Emmett McGuckin believes the additions of Stewart Nixon and Curtis Allen will give the players a massive lift ahead of the business end of the season…

The Magherafelt man spoke to Coleraine TV after coming off the bench to grab a brace in the 3-0 win against Banbridge Town in the Sixth Round of the Irish Cup.

McGuckin acknowledged that he has had to be patient in recent weeks to be given minutes, but hopes that his performance will stand him in good stead for the challenges ahead.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney drafted in Stewart Nixon from Carrick Rangers and Curtis Allen from Glentoran on Transfer Deadline Day to bolster the squad as Coleraine fight on all three fronts.

McGuckin believes the strong competition for places will give players ‘a shake’ and has hailed the attacking options at the club.
