Former Coleraine player, Ernie Worthington, sadly passed away on Sunday morning, aged 79.

A Ballymena man, Ernie played under Kevin Doherty and Bertie Peacock.

He made 98 appearances between 1959/60 and 1962/63, in the right back position.

We was an older brother of Nigel Worthington, a full cousin of Brendan Rodgers, and maternal grandfather of Sam McClelland.
