COLERAINE FC is delighted to announce the signing of Rob Slevin on a season-long loan…
The defender joins the Bannsiders for the 2026/27 campaign after an agreement was struck with his parent club Derry City.
The 28-year-old made the breakthrough at University College Cork (UCC) before later enjoying spells at Waterford United, Cork City and Finn Harps.
His bright performances for Finn Harps alerted the attention of Galway United and he would enjoy a three-year stint with the Tribesmen, making more than 100 appearances in the process and helped the club clinch the First Division title in 2023.
The central defender then made the move to Derry City in December last year and the Cork native has been part of the Candystripes squad – both domestically and in European competition.
Speaking about Slevin’s move to The Showgrounds, Bannsiders boss Ruaidhri Higgins said: “It’s a good addition for us and he’s a player I wanted to bring to the club 12 months ago when he was at Galway.
“He’s a good player, he’s a great lad, he’s a good age for a centre-back and he’s left-footed, which gives us balance in that area of the pitch.
“He’s got a bit of everything that you would want from a centre-half, he can play, he’s a great communicator and I’ve no doubt he will fit in well with the group.
“I’m looking forward to working him now ahead of the Premiership season starting this weekend.”
