Stadium Configuration Trial
COLERAINE FC can announce that we will trial a change to the natural stadium configuration for today’s game against Dungannon Swifts…
Traditionally in recent years, the Hillman’s Way terrace behind the goal has always been reserved for away support. However, as we look to grow our home attendances at The Showgrounds and maximise our capacity, the club will retain the Hillman’s Way terrace solely for home fans at our match with Dungannon on Saturday, October 18 (KO 3pm).
Please note, this does not allow transference during the game or at half-time from other sections of the stadium to this terrace. However, supporters will be able to access the Social Club.
Dungannon Swifts fans will be allocated a section of the Jack Doherty Grandstand, with both sets of supporters asked to enter the ground via the main gate on the Ballycastle Road.
On the trial, CEO Dale Pryde-MacDonald said, “We all acknowledge that we need to look at positive solutions to increase the capacity for home fans at The Showgrounds. There are ways and means of doing it and for this one upcoming game against Dungannon we want to look at how it could work so we can see if it is sustainable and viable.
“We have a capacity of 969 in that terrace, we will utilise some complimentary tickets to local schools and charities for that match so we can see what it looks like in practice with a good crowd but it is a positive step to let us see logistically how we can manage taking that area back for home supporters.
“At the moment it is for this one game, hopefully we can look at it again on a more regular basis but we want to walk before we run and ensure that we have good operational management of the area if we are to do so.”
Supporters are advised that tickets are now on sale and can be bought HERE.
