COLERAINE FC can confirm that Rob Helle has been appointed as Chairman as the Club strengthens its governance for the next phase…

Henry Helle-Ross, who will remain as majority shareholder and a director of the Club, says the appointment is a natural next step in the Club’s governance and as expressed his confidence that Rob Helle’s leadership and experience will help build on the strong foundations already in place.

“I’m pleased to confirm that Rob Helle will become Chairman of Coleraine Football Club. I will continue as a director and remain fully committed to the Club as its majority shareholder.

“This is a straightforward and logical evolution in the Club’s governance. We have made significant progress, and the next phase requires strong commercial, financial and organisational leadership alongside our continued ambitions on the pitch.

“Rob, who is also my stepfather, has built and led large organisations and brings considerable experience, judgement and discipline. More importantly, he is one of the smartest, most hard-working, loyal and humble people I know. He embodies the values we are building at Coleraine, and there is nobody I trust more to lead the Board.

“I have always said that the Club must come before any individual or title, and that includes me. My commitment and responsibility as majority shareholder remain unchanged. With stronger foundations, the right people in the right roles and a clear focus on sustainable high performance on the pitch and long-term financial stability off it, I have never been more confident or excited about Coleraine’s future. This change puts us in an even stronger position to deliver both.”

Speaking following the appointment, Rob paid tribute to Henry Helle-Ross for his commitment and leadership, as well as outlining his own vision for the club.

“It’s a privilege to be asked to chair Coleraine Football Club, and I want to thank Henry and the Board for their trust.

“Everyone connected with this club knows what Henry has driven over the past couple of years — investment in the squad and The Showgrounds, the specialist people now working behind the scenes, and last season’s Irish Cup as proof of that progress.

“My job as Chairman is to make sure the foundations underneath that progress are as strong as the ambition driving it: sound finances, a professional organisation, and a Board that holds itself to the same standards we ask of everyone on and off the pitch.

“Henry is family, and I’m proud of that. But we are both clear that the club comes before any individual, any title and any name. I’ve taken this role on the basis that I’ll be judged — as we all should be — on results and standards, nothing else.

“The immediate focus doesn’t change: backing Ruaidhri and the players as they prepare for European football and the new season, and supporting Dale and his team in building a club off the pitch that matches the ambition on it — commercially strong, professionally run, and equipped to compete for trophies season after season.

“Finally, to our loyal supporters: this club belongs to you and to this town. You’ll get honesty and hard work from me, and you’ll get a Board that takes its responsibility to Coleraine seriously. I look forward to seeing you at The Showgrounds.”
