COLERAINE FC had an interesting delivery to fulfil last week as a home shirt and beanie was dispatched from our Online Club Shop to a happy customer in Illinois…

After his order arrived across the other side of the pond, colerainefc.com spoke with Paul Noble about his links to the Bannsiders and how he enjoyed previous visits to the Ballycastle Road.

“I grew up in Peterborough, England, and I have family that are local to the Coleraine area,” he said.

“My aunt and uncle (Marietta and Maurice Moffatt) live in Coleraine, and I came across to visit regularly when I was younger.

“I’ve been to The Showgrounds on multiple occasions with various family members when visiting.”

Paul – who has lived in the States for around five years – insists his recent items will help with the cold winter months.

“I have lived in the Midwest here in the US for about 5 years now,” he added.

“I moved here to complete my master’s degree in 2016 at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL.

“During my time at Uni, I met my wife, Emma, who is American, and we have stayed in the local area both working at the University.

“I bought the home shirt and a beanie from the Club Shop.

“When I saw online that the club had opened a new online store, I browsed the collection and wanted to purchase a couple of things to help support the club from afar.

“The beanie will certainly come in handy for those brutally cold Midwest Winters.”

So can we see an upsurge of Coleraine fans in Illinois?

“Unfortunately, I don’t think there are too many Coleraine fans on this side of the pond,” he concluded.

“However, I’ll be wearing the home shirt to my local Recreational Men’s league in the coming weeks so maybe the word will spread.”
