COLERAINE take on Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park as the new Danske Bank Premiership season gets underway (KO 3pm)…

The Bannsiders, who enjoyed the successes of an Irish Cup Final and European Football, will be hoping for ‘more of the same’ this season and will be particularly keen to put 3 points on the board at the first time of asking.
The team will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the match which saw them lose 4-0 against the Co Tyrone team, in only their third game of the league.
However, striker Jamie McGonigle is under no illusions that a positive start is essential if Oran Kearney’s men wish to emulate the achievements of the previous year.
“We went up there at the start of last season and got beat 4-0 because we weren’t at our best,” McGonigle stated.
“We will make sure it won’t be like that this time. We need to get off to a good start as last season it was a little up and down up until Boxing Day.
“This year we need to hit the ground running and who knows what could happen.”
Manager Oran Kearney has a number of players out of action with Lyndon Kane, James McLaughlin, David Kee, Gareth McConaghie all out through injury. David Ogilby is also expected to be unavailable for this weekend’s game.
The fixture could provide competitive debuts for Joe McCready and Scot Whiteside, with the defender having received his international clearance.
As usual, those unable to attend can follow the latest developments via the club’s official Twitter account (@ColeraineFC).
