COLERAINE FC can confirm that our kitman Darrell Coyles has left the club after more than six years of service at The Showgrounds…

After initially joining the club as a coach for the club’s U20 side, Darrell stepped-up as kitman for the first-team and had a memorable first game as the Bannsiders beat Maribor in the Europa League qualifiers in 2020.

Darrell has been a huge part of the club in recent years. He has put in countless hours of work to ensure that the kits, training gear and changing rooms are all set up for every first-team fixture at home and on the road.

The club places on record its gratitude and thanks to Darrell for his massive contribution and we wish him well for the future.

Coleraine captain Lyndon Kane paid his own tribute, saying: “If I was to describe Darrell it would be bubbly, extravagant and everything in-between.

“At the very beginning not very many people knew who he was and his first trip was away to Maribor when he took over from Trevor Moffatt.

“He was probably bombarded with all sorts of requests that he didn’t even know was possible!

“But to his credit, anything any player has ever needed – they have got and more.

“It was such a relief to us as players that we didn’t have to worry about things pre-match as Darrell always had us covered.

“As club captain, I’d like to thank Darrell for everything.”
