‘The move felt right’ – Allen

COLERAINE TV spoke to Curtis Allen after the striker re-joined the club on transfer deadline day…

The striker returns to the club on an initial loan deal until the end of the campaign, however, the 31-year-old has agreed and signed a further two-year contract, which comes into effect for the start of next season.

The ex-Linfield and Glentoran ace admitted he was unsure if he wanted to return to the club in January after suffering injury problems this season, but was reassured by boss Oran Kearney that the Bannsiders will look after him.

Allen acknowledged that the club has moved on since he was last here and believes that he is an even better finisher than what he was when he was previously on the books, a spell which yielded 44 goals in 89 appearances.

The former Bournemouth trainee highlighted the influence of Oran Kearney – both on and off the pitch – as a major reason behind the move and hopes to reignite ‘a great relationship’ with the fans.
