“The players are giving everything” – OK

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney praised his side’s work ethic as they drew with Glentoran for a second successive match…

The Bannsiders had a quick turnaround in preparations as they met Glentoran for the second time in three days, with Matthew Shevlin’s equaliser giving the hosts a share of the spoils at The Showgrounds.

Kearney knew Glentoran would have the slighter edge in terms of preparations due to their full-time status but heaped praise on his own players who he claimed have given him and the club everything they have in terms of effort.

Coleraine fell behind to Robbie McDaid’s close range finish just before the half-time whistle, and whilst admitting the space Ciaran O’Connor was afforded to provide the assist, Kearney was delighted to see his side’s character shine through to pick up a point.

The boss highlighted the impact of Ben Doherty from the bench as the midfielder set-up Shevlin’s equaliser and previews the clash against Ballymena United next Saturday.
